A Guide To Transitional Dressing

Back with another post involving all things transitional dressing today. I get a lot of questions about my personal style and how I dress, so I thought this post would be a really useful one.

So what is transitional dressing? Super simple, it’s dressing for that grey area in between seasons. Currently in the UK we’re moving from summer into Autumn/Winter much quicker than we’d all like. The idea is to pick up a few items that will work really well with your summer wardrobe and help you ‘transition’ into the colder months without over buying.

Personally my style is all about strong basics, classic shapes and neutrals, so I thought I’d share my top 10 key pieces I think can work in any wardrobe. Items like a white shirt, black ankle boot, straight leg trouser can be worn all year round, I’d go for a classic style that you love so you can really get your wear out of them. Leather jackets, knitwear and blazers are perfect for layering. There’s nothing worse than leaving the house when it’s freezing in the morning and by midday it’s 25 degrees. These are great to layer over summer dresses and skirts.

Other key items I think that are often overlooked are Midi dresses, some really simple black tops and accessories. I’ve listed all the pieces I reach for below so you can get an idea for the kind of style I love to have in my wardrobe.

I hope this has been helpful! Do let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see on here.
